AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE SHERIFFS TO USE CERTAIN OFFENDERS WHO ARE SERVING THEIR SENTENCES IN A COUNTY JAIL TO WASH MOTOR VEHICLES WHICH ARE USED BY CONSTABLES IN THEIR OFFICIAL CAPACITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The sheriff may use any offender who has been convicted of a nonviolent felony or of any misdemeanor and who is serving all or any part of his sentence in the county jail to wash any motor vehicle which is used by a constable in his official capacity, as provided by Section 19-19-1.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1999.
